Hello World!
I’m launching this blog to create a space to share thoughts
and ideas and stimulate discussion around the space where business meets
society.
In general I believe that there is a lot of potential in
this space and that more focus, especially strategic, value-oriented focus is
needed.
I've worked in and around this space for a long time – when I
mention how many years it makes me feel old but let’s say that in the mid-1980s
I helped to negotiate one of the first (possibly The first) ever agreements
between an Indigenous organization and a mining company.
It was between the Reindeer Region Economic Development
Committee of NE Saskatchewan, Canada and Corona Gold Mine.
Since that time I've worked on close to 100 projects all
over the world that have something to do with the space where business and
society meet.
Right now I am quite interested in value and how
interactions in the space where business and society meet can create or destroy
value for society and for shareholders.
I've created the CSR Training Institute to serve as a
vehicle to help business, society and other stakeholders, including consultants
and advisers, to become better at finding, creating and preserving value in
this space.
This blog will hold my thoughts and ramblings, ideas and
opinions, occasional insights and, hopefully well informed guest blogs.
I welcome feedback and look forward to the ideas and people
that I will meet.

Great idea. As an executive working in the for-profit healthcare space in Africa, this makes sense. Looking forward to reading more from you.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading about your adventures and your thoughts, Wayne! You have so much to share.
